High Levels of Learning for All!

High Levels of Learning for All!

September is a month of traditional goal setting and "New Year's Resolutions" in the education world. We take time to look at data from the spring as well as our current fall assessment to develop a plan for the year. Our staff began this process this week by reviewing data from the Missouri Assessment Program test and attendance data from the spring. There were areas of celebration. Students are making some growth from year to year. Our attendance  improved significantly last year as compared to other years. There were also areas where we can do betterStudent growth did not occur at the rates we hoped for or expected. Some are growing and others are not. When we looked at the data, we were not satisfied. We want ALL of our students to be on grade level. Not 70%, not 80%, not 90%, but 100% of our students should be at grade level or better  in reading, writing and math by the end of the school year. Our job is to give your children the best educational opportunities we can. I assure you we are working to do this.  In the next few weeks, I will be sharing specific strategies and data with you as we begin the work of making our goal a reality. Thank you for all you do to be a partner in your child's education!

September is Bully Prevention Month!

Mrs. Brunk and her fifth graders kick off our PBS assembly with a skit teaching our students how to "just stand up" against bullying. They offered great strategies for our students to use if they are faced with bullying behaviors. Great job to our fifth graders and Mrs. Brunk. We have OVER 650 positive referrals so far this school year! This is truly amazing! Our kids do an exceptional job of being safe, respectful and responsible everyday!
